An Introduction I am a husband and father to my wonderful wife, Katie, and five awesome kids. All aspects of my life revolve around this absolute. With such a strong family bond, it is due to their encouragement and support that I am now a proud Representative of our community, appointed in February 2022 to replace Christine Drazan and elected in November 2022.
Professionally, I am the Director of our family business, Building Blocks Early Learning Center, partnering with my wife and mother to care for over 100 children a day in our two facilities. In addition, my family owns Hoffman Family Farms, where we cultivate and sell Christmas trees.
My desire to serve is not new. My service to our community began when I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I subsequently deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, as an infantryman, on two separate combat tours of duty. After my honorable discharge, I returned home to Canby and volunteered in various roles over the years, including serving as Vice Chair of the Canby Planning Commission, Vice Commander and other roles for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6057, National Committeeman and Treasurer for the Young Republicans of Oregon, a Precinct Committee Person for the Clackamas County Republican Party and a member of American Legion Post 122 and the Canby Housing Needs Committee.
Public safety is at the top of my list of priorities. Whether it be the uptick in violent crime or the amount of homelessness we see currently, I want everyone to feel safe and secure. Keeping our kids in school is also of big concern. Our kids suffered greatly during the two years of the pandemic, and we need to give them some sort of normalcy. Helping our small business community is an urgent need, too. There are many small business owners in our community who have lost their lives work or are on the brink of doing so. I want to do what I can to keep our local companies prospering.
Don't hesitate to reach out to me, if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
